MediaTek Dimensity 820 SoC in Redmi 10X smartphone benches like a champion on AnTuTu and leaves the Snapdragon 765G in the dust
The recently launched Redmi 10X with a brand-new MediaTek Dimensity 820 SoC has been delivering some astonishing benchmark scores on AnTuTu. The midrange chip managed a class-leading performance with the aid of its four Cortex-A76 @2.6 GHz cores and four Cortex-A55 @2.0 GHz cores. The Dimensity 820 has also shone in various benchmarks against the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G.
Xiaomi-backed Redmi launched its new Redmi 10X series smartphones in China on 26th May and ahead of the launch, the company had confirmed that the devices will come powered by the newly announced MediaTek Dimensity 820 SoC.
Recently, the company also shared AnTuTu benchmark score of the upcoming smartphone, which managed to score an impressive 406,664 points. With such score, it has easily surpassed the score from its rival Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G SoC.
A screenshot of comparing AnTuTu benchmark scores of Dimensity 820 SoC and Snapdragon 765G SoC has surfaced online which shows the former scoring 406,664 points while the later managed to score 325,155 points.

When compared, it seems that the Dimensity 820 is surpassing its Snapdragon counterpart in every segment, be it CPU, GPU, Memory or User Experience (UX).

The Redmi 10X 5G smartphone launched on May 26 was the first device to feature the powerful MediaTek Dimensity 820 chip. While a few cherry-picked favorable benchmarks have already been shown for the Dimensity 820 against the Snapdragon 765G, the new SoC from MediaTek also managed some incredible scores on AnTuTu that place it in charge of the midrange smartphone territory.
MediaTek offered up some carefully selected benchmarks that showed the Dimensity 820 taking on and beating the Snapdragon 765G. For instance, the new 7nm SoC defeated Qualcomm’s part by +7% and +37% in Geekbench 4.2 tests and managed a massive 300% higher performance in an apparent AI benchmark. Beyond these results, it is the MediaTek Dimensity 820’s recorded scores of 415,277 and 415,672 points on AnTuTu that are truly remarkable.
These AnTuTu scores would place the Redmi 10X right at the top of the current midrange table, which is headed by the OPPO Reno3 with its Dimensity 1000L. The highest-listed SD 765G device, the Redmi K30, is way back on 329,704 points. Redmi has described the performance as “flagship par”, which it sort of is if you are counting flagships from last year, as current flagship devices can manage over 500,000 points and even 600,000 points on AnTuTu. But regardless of the marketing hyperbole, the combination of the Redmi 10X and MediaTek Dimensity 820 is certainly a potent one.
