  • iQOO slashes prices of iQOO 3 in India
  • iQOO 3 now starts at Rs 34,990, earlier priced starting at Rs 38,990
  • iQOO 3 comes in 4G and 5G variants

iQoo 3 has received a price cut in India. The Vivo spin-off brand launched the iQoo 3 as its first phone in India and the phone will now retail starting at Rs. 34,990. The phone comes in three RAM and storage configurations and the base variant that was priced at Rs. 36,990 has received a price reduction of Rs. 2,000.

iQOO says it has revised the price of iQoo 3 due of coronavirus pandemic as affordability is a key concern. It will be available in two colours– Quantum Silver and Tornado Black on Flipkart and iQOO India store.

In a tweet, iQoo India’s Director of Marketing Gagan Arora noted that the company is not only “absorbing the recent GST increase” but also reducing the price of iQoo 3. Arora also shared that the iQoo 3 sales will start after the lockdown ends.

The iQOO 3 will be available in three variants starting from Rs 34,990 for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, Rs 37,990 for the 256GB storage variant and Rs 44,990 for the maxed-out variant with 5G support, 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

VariantOld PricePrice CutNew Price
iQOO 3 4G (8GB + 128GB)₹38,990 ($510)₹4,000 ($52)₹34,990 ($458)
iQOO 3 4G (8GB + 256GB)₹41,990 ($550)₹4,000 ($52)₹37,990 ($498)
iQOO 3 5G (12GB + 256GB)₹46,990 ($615)₹2,000 ($26)₹44,990 ($589)

This price reduction effectively makes it the cheapest Snapdragon 865-powered smartphone on the Indian market right now, making the lack of high refresh rate panel much more palatable. With this price cut, the iQOO 3 is now ₹5,000 cheaper than the base model of the Realme X50 Pro and ₹7,000 cheaper than the newly released One Plus 8.

iQOO 3 features a 6.44-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) resolution display that uses an AMOLED panel that topped by a layer of Gorilla Glass 6. The screen has a punch-hole cutout on the front that houses a 16MP selfie camera and gives it a 20:9 aspect ratio. A fingerprint reader is also embedded underneath the screen that allows users to unlock the phone in a jiffy.

The phone is powered by top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset with an octa-core CPU and Adreno 650 GPU. This is paired with upto 12GB RAM and upto 256GB UFS 3.1 storage options to choose from. The phone runs on a forked version of Android 10 that the company calls iQOO UI 1.0.

iQOO 3 has a quad-camera setup on the back that includes a 48MP primary camera, a 13MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, another 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP depth sensor. The rear cameras can do 4K UHD videos at upto 60fps with support for EIS.

The phone comes with Wi-FI 6, USB Type-C port for charging along with the standard set of sensors and connectivity features, including a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The iQOO 3 has a 4,400mAh battery that supports 55W fast charging via Super Flash Charge 2.0 solution.

iQOO 3 price revision comes after the launch of two high-profile smartphones launches in the world that’s still dealing with a global health crisis. The OnePlus 8 series followed by Apple’s iPhone SE 2020 was announced recently along with their Indian pricing. iQOO takes an advantage over here as it’s offering a 4G variant of its Snapdragon 865 powered smartphone that makes it a rather affordable deal when you look at all the other flagship phones currently available in the country.

The company also noted that iQoo 3 will be one of the first smartphones to receive Android 11, as well as receive regular security and OTA updates for 3 years. Notably, the pricing for the two variants (8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB) has been updated on Flipkart with the phones marked as “Coming Soon.”
